"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change"
Carl Rogers
About Me
I've lived in Somerset for the last 14 years and am very happy here. I have also been fortunate to have had the privilege to travel and live in other countries throughout my life. I feel this has helped in my counselling work, as it has provided me with a real understanding of other cultures, beliefs, norms and people.
I love nature, wildlife and simple things, my most favourite past time being a walk with my dog in the countryside.
A few years ago I experienced a breakdown, which changed my life in many ways. During that difficult time, I was fortunate enough to receive counselling, which enabled me to recover and process things from my life which had taken a huge toll on me psychologically. Therapy really allowed me to explore and understand myself better, and has given me effective skills for dealing with things in the future.
As a result, I am even more passionate about providing therapy and healing for other people. My own experiences have led me to train to become a counsellor, and I feel that they allow me to empathise and help others, hopefully so that they don't have to experience the same extremes that I went through.
